Take away my gay card, and my Welsh one.

Friday night I went to Kunst, at the RVT, with it's Winter of discontent theme. It was packed and was fortunate to get a seat, thanks to the early arrival of Queerroyale, and co. I had missed a fair few of the early acts, but never mind a few drinks would soon sort me out. I did however seen the sinister operatic version of Psycho killer, and Nathan Evans' critique of the surveillance society whilst dressed as the Queen, he may have a point with his condemnation of ID Cards, CCTV cameras and detention without charge, but his criticism of the ban on smoking in enclosed places is one which seems to get fewer cheers each time I see the act. Salena Godden's poetry
was however very good. This is the third month in a row I've attended Kunst, but the first that I've stayed to see their resident band, the Holy Ghost Revival. This was their last ever appearance at the RVT before their return to the States. To be honest they were a bit to RAWK and Roll for my tastes, and the lead singer reminded me of Axl Rose of Guns n Roses, but by the end I was almost won over.

This is where the loss of my Gay card come in. One of the songs they played was either a cover of , or included a significant portion of Maddona's Like a Prayer, but until Queerroyale pointed this out to me I hadn't noticed. Oops.

If this wasn't bad enough yesterday after I roasting a huge chicken I went out for a short walk, which ended up being longer than I intended, got home turned on the TV and realised the rugby was on Wales was playing Australia.

Wales won, but unfortunately I only saw the last thirty seconds of the game. I really must do better.
